Zombie Films:
Dawn of the Dead (2004):
George A. Romero's film has risen from
the grave! Over twenty years later Zach
Snyder has dug up this classic and
re-animated it with all of the magic of
today's make-up and special effects
artists! Ferocious zombies and copious
amounts of blood and brain matter
splattering all over the screen... what more
could a girl ask for!
Shaun of the Dead (2004):
2004 was definitely the year of the
zombie! If you want the same quality of
blood and gore you would get from an
"edge of your seat" movie, but in a
masterpiece of a comedy, then this is it!
Written and directed by Edgar Wright and
Simon Pegg, this is the most creative
zombie film out there! And with Simon
Pegg playing "Shaun", you will be laughing
all the way to the grave!
Night of the Living Dead (1968):
This was the first. This is the one that started
it all. This is the one that began Romero's
zombie legacy! And 40 years after it's
release it still remains the biggest inspiration
to all of the zombie creations that followed it.
While George A. Romero is still dreaming up
new un-dead creations, this film deserves to
be showcased for it's birth to what seems to
be an un-ending series!
Pet Sematary (1989):
This is another adaptation of one of Stephen
King's novels, and although it's not a great
film it does have a couple very redeeming
features. First of all, there is nothing more
creepy or disturbing than the horrifying,
homicidal toddler back from the dead!
Second, the man playing the sweet old
neighbor is the late great Fred Gwynne, best
known for his timeless portrayal of Herman
Munster!
Dead Alive (1992):
Cheesy. Laughable. A couple words that may
spring to mind when you watch this hilariously
bad horror flick. It's one of those movies that
is so bad it's good! It would take a special
person to make a film like this. And it did.
Before hitting it big with the Lord of the Rings,
Peter Jackson made one of the strangest
zombie movies ever! Who would of thought
this guy would be Oscar worthy?!
